Setting Up IPTV on MAG and Formuler Boxes

MAG units from Infomir and Formuler boxes were built for this and nothing else, which is why they hold a steadier picture than a repurposed streaming stick — worth knowing if a main set gets heavy nightly use. Neither takes an ordinary app login: a MAG runs from a portal address tied to its MAC, and Formuler goes through MyTVOnline, so the first move is to get us that MAC.

Before you start

  • A MAG 3xx/4xx/5xx, or a Formuler Z8, Z10 or Z11
  • The MAC address printed under the box
  • Your Xerquvatv portal URL (sent once you share the MAC)

Getting it running

  1. Send us the MAC address

    It is on the label under the box and under Settings, About device. On a MAG it starts 00:1A:79. Photograph the label and send it on WhatsApp, then wait for us to confirm the portal is switched on before going further — nothing works before that.

    Sort your line first

  2. MAG: enter the portal URL

    Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals. Give Portal 1 any name, paste the portal address we sent, save, and restart the box. It will not load until that restart.

  3. Formuler: use MyTVOnline

    Open MyTVOnline 2 or 3 and choose Add Portal, giving a name and the portal address. Or pick Xtream Codes and use the standard login instead. A Formuler will also run Android players such as TiViMate if you would rather go that way.

  4. Restart and check

    After the restart the box loads the 25,000+ channels with its built-in guide. Bring up a channel to confirm, and use the remote colour buttons for favourites and the EPG.

If the picture will not come good

It shows "STB blocked" or a blank screen

Either the MAC is not activated yet, or a character was wrong when it was sent. Send a photo of the label rather than retyping it, and it clears within minutes in almost every case.

On a main television used daily, yes: a better remote, a quicker guide, and nothing to sideload ever. It runs about $200 to $300 in Australia against $60 to $100 for a stick. On a bedroom set the stick is the better value and nobody will notice.
