Getting it running
Decide free or paid
IPTV Smarters Player is free on iOS and tvOS and does the job. iPlayTV and GSE Smart IPTV cost a few dollars and lay the list out more nicely. Pick one now, and ignore anything named TiviMato or Tivimax — they are not TiViMate.
Open the App Store
On an Apple TV it sits on the home screen; on an iPhone or iPad it is the usual App Store icon.
Install the player
Search for the app you chose and install it. On an Apple TV you can also start the install from your phone and it lands on the box.
Sign in with Xtream Codes
Open the app, choose the Xtream Codes option, and enter the username, password and server address. On an iPhone you can paste each field straight out of the WhatsApp chat, which kills off typing mistakes.
Check it, and AirPlay if you like
Play a channel and give it a moment. From an iPhone you can then AirPlay to an Apple TV or any AirPlay set in the room, which is handy if you would rather not install anything on the television itself.
If the picture will not come good
The list loads but a stream will not play
Some channels use codecs Apple devices only decode with the right player engine. Switch the engine to VLC or FFmpeg in the app settings and it comes good.

Is there IPTV Smarters for Apple TV?
Yes, on the tvOS App Store, and it is free. It supports the Xtream login with the guide, catch-up and on-demand sections all working. TiViMate genuinely is not on Apple TV, whatever the similarly named listings suggest.
Can I watch on my Mac?
Three ways: install IPTV Smarters Player from the Mac App Store, open the M3U link in VLC or IINA, or use the browser player. The Windows and Mac guide walks through each.
